Milkaholic Shower

It's Shower Time! Today several of my friends and I hosted a baby shower for our friend Susie! It's so fun because three of us are all pregnant and due within one month of each other. Other than there having to be "something in the water"...it's kinda a cool story...Last August several of us gathered together to pray over one of our friends who had been struggling with fertility. It was their last attempt to try IVF...so we all planned a special night to intercede and pray for them...and then we all enjoyed a fun dinner together! Well, now 3 of the couples are all expecting within one month of each other...the Lord chose to answer our prayers with more than one baby that night! =)
Sooo...now it's time to shower each other! We threw a "Milkaholic" shower today for Susie and it was so much fun! Here are some pictures from the day...

Hostesses w/expectant mother Susie...

Welcome table (Lauren & I were super proud of our "favors"...milk jugs with Milk Duds...)

Yep...Lauren and I did those "Cow Pops"...amazing what you can get done on a play date! =)

Susie...She's so cute! =)

This was the favorite playing place for Bella, Charleigh and Abi...

Wonder what they do under there??? Eat, drink, play...you know what girlfriends do best. =)

Fun day showering Susie...now Jaime is next!

Sweet gifts...

Just a few little gifts for friends...practice makes perfect with this sewing stuff! I've definitely learned the most from my mistakes...now, by the time we land on a name for our little guy I should be an expert at monogramming and appliqueing! =)

Weekend with the Girls!

This past weekend, my mom, Linz and Sadie came for a visit! We had so much fun just living life together for 3 days! Of course 3 days never seems long enough...especially when these two little cousins just light up each other's eyes every time they're around each other. =)

They enjoyed sharing lots of hugs and kisses...

Riding together for strolls around the neighborhood...

Splashing in the bath...

Reading stories together (Bella would insist Sadie "sit on bottom"..."stay")...it never lasted long with Sadie...she would rather be crawling and exploring the house...

Time with Uncle Jer aka: Daddy is oh so fun...

Cuddle time with Aunt Linz before bedtime...

Can't you just see the love in their eyes...sweetest little thing =)

Church time...Bella walked through the halls telling everyone..."Mimi...Sadie Bug...Mimi...Sadie Bug" as she pointed to them...she was so proud!

Love my Buggie...

Special Valentine's Visit!

We decided to make a special little trip to visit She-She for Valentine's Day! We were able to stay for about two days...and Jordan, Ellen and Maddy met us there too! We had so much fun loving on our "Mom"..."Mamma Lloyd"..."She-She."

Someone was super excited about Valentine's Day!!!

My sister in law, Ellen, gets a prize for being an awesome bargain shopper! She found me a brand new 2012 Double Bob jogger for less than half of what the normal asking price usually is online! Woohoo! They brought me the stroller this trip! Bella and I were just gonna go with baby doll "ucy" (Lucy)...

but then Maddy woke up just in time! We ventured out...Bella and Maddy thoroughly enjoyed the ride! =)

On Valentine's Day we made a special visit to see Grandma Smith in her new home...

After naps, the girls surprised their She-She with some pretty roses...

And then we ventured out to the beach and She-She took adorable pictures of Maddy and Bella! I can't wait to see them...I will have to post a few once they are all ready!
When the sun went down...and picture taking was complete, Jeremy and Jordan took their mom out to a nice Valentine's dinner! Ellen and I took the girls and played with cousins!

Before heading home, we made a visit to see Pappa Lloyd and Mrs. Carolyn...

The best part about Valentine's Day is loving on your family and friends! Just being together makes it that much more special! =)

Learning to monogram and applique...

Here are a few of my projects from the past couple weeks...definitely not perfect, but learning lots as I practice! =)
...A special thanks to a few friends here in Pensacola for sharing their knowledge with me as well as my dear friend, Em, who seems to always be just a phone call away...though hundreds of miles separate us right now and kiddos are surround our ankles...sometimes a quick text or phone is all it takes to answer a sewing question! And a perfect opportunity to put a plug in for her special ministry...www.418stiches.com! Check it out and help support her as she seeks to use her time/energy for the Lord. =)

Learning on onezies...

A few pillowcase dresses............ (Valentine's Day Specials)

Seersucker for Bella and baby brother...
(I plan on monogramming/appliqueing a shirt for him once he has a name!)

Little 2 piece outfit w/Owl applique...
(I took like 25 pictures of her in this outfit and these were the only ones that weren't blurry...she is on the go!)

Sneak preview of Bella's 2nd b'day! I'm making matching Elmo dresses for the cousins to wear since this year is our "family birthday party" year. =)

I've also sewn the crib bumpers, crib skirt and curtains for "baby brother's" bedding...but I'll save those for pictures once his nursery is more together!

Love is in the air!

We love Valentine's Day...and have had so much fun sharing with others how much we love and appreciate them! You know, it always confuses me when people say they dislike Valentine's Day...I mean I guess I get it a little. They are sad because they don't have a "special valentine...romantic relationship ect." But, to me Valentine's Day is a holiday to share your love with all those you love and appreciate! We all have family and friends who we are thankful for...right!? Of course, it's not the only day we should show our love and appreciation but it sure is one special day to love on others!

We have enjoyed a week's worth of projects and valentine making! Bella and I have been learning about God's love for us and how special we are to him which ties in just perfectly to Valentine's Day!

We had lots of fun making special Valentine Cards for our family. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins!

Can you see the excitement in Bella's eyes about..."valntine day"?

I've enjoyed learning how to use my new sewing/embroidery machine...Valentine's Day was the perfect opportunity to practice appliques and monogramming! =) (I will have to do a post with some of my latest sewing projects! It's really easy to get out of control and sew...sew...sew! I figure I better enjoy it while I have the time now...cause newborns don't so much allow for time or energy to sew!) =)

The "Love Chapter" seems to come to mind as we celebrate Valentine's Day this week...

"Love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, does not boast, is not proud, is not easily angered and keeps no records of wrongs, loves does delight in evil but rejoices in the truth, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres...Love never fails!" I pray that as a family we show love to each other every day of the year...
